Marc Anthony launches a recording session series on YouTube


There’s only one Marc Anthony. With almost five billion video streams, mega-grossing international concert tours, and a massive social media base, he’s the world’s biggest-selling tropical and salsa singer by far.

Now, fans worldwide have the opportunity to witness Anthony's most intimate journey as a music creator with the premiere of Opus - The Recording Sessions Series, exclusively on his YouTube Channel Marc Anthony starting Thursday, February 13th, 2020 at 7 p.m. ET. The digital weekly series, produced by Magnus Studios, will run for a period of 10 weeks.

Recorded in Miami at Art House Society and Criteria Studios, Opus is state-of-the-art salsa album that finds Marc Anthony teaming up once again with pace-setting producer and pianist Sergio George, who produced Marc’s first salsa mega hits and co-produced his acclaimed 2013 album 3.0. Their imaginative, innovative, and massively popular productions revolutionized the sound of music, bringing millions of young listeners to tropical music and continues to have an impact all over the world. Janet Jackson kicks off a summer tour


International icon Janet Jackson is set to tour again and tickets for her Black Diamond World tour are already on sale. The 34-city tour kicks off on Wednesday, June 24 in Miami and concludes in Tacoma, WA.

The outing features an all-new production and showcases new music from Jackson’s highly-anticipated 12th studio album Black Diamond, set for release this year. Fans can also expect songs from her 12 multi-platinum albums including a special performance of Rhythm Nation 1814, which recently celebrated its 30th Anniversary. The landmark album, released on September 19, 1989, went 12 time platinum worldwide and is the only album in the history of the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 singles chart to have seven singles peak within the top five positions and also the only album to produce number one hits on the chart in three separate calendar years (1989–1991).

Jackson is one of the most influential entertainers of the modern era. Her music has won her five Grammy Awards, two Emmy nominations, a Golden Globe Award and an Academy Award nomination along with dozens of American Music Awards, MTV Video Music Awards and Billboard Music Awards. She has received numerous accolades as an actress including the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People Best Supporting Actor award. Jackson, a Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee, is also a published author, dancer, entrepreneur and philanthropist, in addition to being one of the biggest-selling artists in popular music history. With sales exceeding 185 million records worldwide, Jackson has a series of hits that have left an indelible impression on pop culture. Her music and artistry opened doors through which other top artists have followed, many acknowledging her impact on their musical influences.

While a release date for Black Diamond has yet to be announced, the album is expected to be released in 2020 via Jackson's Rhythm Nation imprint and BMG.

Valerie Uzcategui is crowned Miss Carnaval Miami 2020

The votes have been cast and after a competitive Miss Carnaval Miami pageant, the Kiwanis Club of Little Havana has crowned its 39th queen, the beautiful Valeria Uzcategui Miss Carnaval Miami 2020. The 17-years-old will be the ambassador of Carnaval Miami 2020, represent South Florida during the Miss Florida USA pageant, as well as join the Kiwanis Club of Little Havana as an ambassador during community events and goodwill projects throughout the year. Joining Valeria as the Miss Carnaval Miami court are first runner-up Susanlee Forte, second runner-up Marcela Bacellar, third runner-up Monica Aguilar and fourth runner-up Bianca Rosen.

“Valeria embodies the beauty, intelligence, happiness and dedication to helping others that is essential to becoming Miss Carnaval Miami 2020,” said Jorge Fernandez, president of the Kiwanis Club of Little Havana. “The Miss Carnaval title provides young ladies with an opportunity to become influential figures in the community, and we believe Valeria will be a tremendous representative of the Kiwanis Club of Little Havana and the South Florida Hispanic community.”


Valeria was born in Tampa, Florida, raised in the multicultural city of Miami by Venezuelan parents. She is currently a junior in high school participating in the Cambridge program and simultaneously obtaining her Associate’s degree. Her extracurricular activities consist of Cross Country, modeling and participant in over five National Honor Societies. In her free time, she is thrilled to help the less fortunate and volunteering at the animal shelter, in her own words “those activities always fill my heart with joy.”

“I would like to thank the Kiwanis Club of Little Havana for providing me with the opportunity to become Miss Carnaval Miami 2020,” said Valeria. “The Kiwanis Club of Little Havana represents a beacon of hope to many families in South Florida, and it means the world to me that I will be able to represent Hispanic women in the community and become a positive influence for younger generations.”
