The Boricuas take over the Billboard Latin Music Awards

Indeed the Enchanted Island has been roughing it but when it comes to music, Puerto Rico stands firm and proud to have some of the most talented artists born there. The proof was definitely at this years 20th Billboard Latin Music Awards that was moved to Las Vegas, Nevada from Miami, Florida.

The award show kicked off with Ricky Martin, Yandel, and Wisin performing their most recent hit “Fiebre” and closing the Billboard Latin Music Awards the sonero de la juventud Victor Manuelle and Farruko. Throughout the evening performances of Luis Fonsi, Daddy Yankee, Ozuna, Bad Bunny, Chayanne, and Nicky Jam. Check the performances.

As for awards, a total of 20 Billboard Latin Music Award statues were won by Puerto Ricans. Yup, “Despacito” took most of the statues, six that is.
