Marc Anthony's Una Noche global concert - Part I

It's been thirteen months a majority of us haven't attended a live concert. Many artists and musicians have seeked alternatives to keep their artistry afloat. In the interim of concerts, artists have presented livestreams. Just this past weekend millions of viewers had an experience of a lifetime with salsa music artist Marc Anthony - a musical roller coaster experience.

Marc Anthony had planned for months a livestream global concert, Una Noche, in which he made the announcement March 3 via his Instagram account. Ticket sales started immediately after. It was the talk of social media and the press industry.

Marc Anthony who is celebrating 30 plus years as a Latin artist today has been one of the most popular salsa artists worldwide. He misses being on stage, interacting with his fans and being alongside his band and crew who are a crucial part to Marc's concerts and career. In gratitude to his fans for his successful career, their unconditional love and support, he planned a livestreaming global concert.

Una Noche was going to be livestreamed from Miami, Florida on Maestro, the same platform used by Billie Eilish and Tim McGraw, to more than 90 countries starting at 8 p.m. Saturday, April 17 but due to an overwhelming demand the streaming platform encountered technical issues it was cancelled. Fans worldwide waited hours with family, friends or alone for the broadcast to start. As it is expected, there was disappointment from all corners of the world and of course on behalf of Marc Anthony himself who made a social media statement at 1:30 a.m. Sunday. It wasn't only an apology but also a solution a few hours later to the technical glitch. Die hard Marc Anthony fans never doubted or dissed him. As the saying goes, the show must go on and indeed it did.

As a professional artist and the love and respect he has for his work and his fans, Marc requested the promoter issue refunds. In addition, the entire recorded livestream was successfully premiered on his YouTube channel at 5 p.m. Sunday until Monday 5 p.m. The disappointed fans who purchased tickets, planned viewing parties on Saturday are hopefully more then content that the concert was on YouTube for free and available for 24 hours. Furthermore, those that for one reason or another didn't or couldn't buy a ticket are more than grateful they were able to watch the Una Noche concert after all.

Marc Anthony and his Una Noche streaming concert were trending topics on social media all weekend long. On Monday night during OTM Studios Salsa Van Life live show on YouTube with Mikey Jimenez of On The Mic Production and one of Marc Anthony's longest employees, salsa music listeners and Marc Anthony fans meet up every Monday to listen to music and chat. The talk Monday night definitely was about Una Noche. Marc Anthony himself and a few of his band members also joined in. They were praised and thanked. One fan mentioned she and others couldn't afford to pay to watch the livestream and were very appreciative they were able to watch it on YouTube

There were approximately 62,999 watching when the Una Noche concert premiere countdown reached the zero mark, in less then six minutes there were 103,162 watching and... click here for part II.
