Marc Anthony's Una Noche global concert - Part II


There were approximately 62,999 watching when the Una Noche concert premiere countdown reached the zero mark. In less then six minutes, there were 103,162 watching and by the end of the premiere kickoff (1 hr 20 mins) 367,476 were watching. And indeed Marc Anthony's Una Noche global concert continued nonstop on YouTube for 24 hours.


It was an amazing sense of relief, giddiness to be waiting for the premiere to start. The anticipation grew stronger as the countdown began 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1, 0. How many let out a scream or two as if you were at Marc Anthony's concert live? But instead you were at the comfort of your casa probably not with the same company as planned for the actual livestream and casually dressed or even in your pajamas. Like the saying in Spanish goes “nos quedamos vestidos y alborotados” we stayed dress and pumped.

As soon as Marc Anthony was seen, nostalgia struck. In the first few minutes of the concert, Marc took us through his concert preparation and rehearsals for Una Noche with his baddest band and back up singers. Then came the medley mix intro - “Rain over Me,” “Dímelo,” “Está Rico,” “Felices los Cuatro,” and “La Gozadera” - just before the man of the moment appeared in the background to kick off Una Noche with “Valió la Pena.” 

“Muchas gracias a todo el mundo presente, en 50 paises muchas gracias. Les mando un abrazo. Ya era tiempo, espero no defraudarles. Eh, mil bendiciones. So muchas gracias.” 

Una Noche was no different from Marc's live concerts. He had an audience not a full audience though that he sang to, talked to, used his favorite phrases “si la saben cántenla conmigo, check it out...” He danced, he interacted with his band, he sweated, he was passionate, he blew kisses, the lighting was on point. His repertoire included his past, present, medley mix, and in between hits.
 

Marc Anthony, the band and his singers were 100,000,000... in concert mode and phenomenal. And just my observation, I won't doubt that Marc, the band and singers had no idea there was technical difficulty until after they finished performing. If I am right, I am glad they weren't aware of it. Maybe, just maybe it would have been an entire different concert mode.


The setlist included “Y hubo Alguien,” “Hasta Ayer,” “Flor Pálida,” “Lo que te Di,” a medley mix that included “Abrázame muy Fuerte,” “Almohada,” “Y como es El.” “Volando entre tus Brazos” sung for the first time live thanks to his music director Angel who talked Marc into singing it followed by “Palabras del Alma,” “Si te Vas,” and “Parecen Viernes” in which Marc is forever grateful to Maluma for this song, it changed his life forever.


Just before proceeding to his next song, Marc stated “Treinta años de mi carrera, quería compartir con mi gente. My question, what's going to make it that it? Una sugerencia, I had one suggestion that I would love to live the moment, y se dio, Here we go.” And nonetheless, the top reggaeton artist Daddy Yankee and the special guest of Una Noche started singing “De vuelta pa' la Vuelta,” the latest Daddy and Marc Anthony hit song. Followed by “Tu amor me hace Bien,” and we all know the closing hymn song “Vivir mi Vida.”


Although Marc's not much of a talker during his concerts, he did give a sense of hope. “It’s been a minute since we’ve seen each other... This is not a conventional show, but I understand we are going through the same thing out there. Most of all thank you for your patience... Stay safe out there. If this is the way to reach you until we meet face to face again... Thank you, thank you, thank you for your patience,” expressed Marc.


“Ha sido un minuto desde que nos vemos... Esto no es un espectáculo convencional, pero entiendo que estamos pasando por lo mismo alla afuera. Sobre todo gracias por su paciencia... Manténganse seguros allá afuera. Si esta es la manera en llegarles hasta que nos volvamos a ver de cara a cara... Gracias, gracias, gracias por su paciencia,” expreso Marc.  


Diehard fans know Marc Anthony is very responsible with his career and a perfectionist. Marc would never deceive his fans, his people, his band, his crew. He would never put his career at risk in this manner. Those that think otherwise in reality don't know him as an artist and how devoted he is to his fans. He's just as devoted to his fans as they are to him. For whatever reason, the long wait for an explanation is hopefully forgotten and of course made up for. 

As already stated and putting it nicely, things happen for a reason. Definitely more people were able to enjoy the amazing and one of a kind Una Noche with Marc Anthony, his baddest band and baddest singers. This for sure was a warm up for his upcoming tour this fall after a year and a half covid break, well for those that will be brave to head out and are anxious to see Marc live again. For those that will wait a little longer, you got one heck of a concert to hold you for a few more months.


The closing statistics of the phenomenal global Una Noche concert - after 24 hours of being on YouTube it was watched by 4,587,209. In addition, it was trending #2 on YouTube.


Therefore, congratulations to Marc Anthony for a great idea made into a reality, it was the second best thing to a Marc Anthony live concert. Turning it all into a phenomenal positive ending full with hope to return to concert normalcy.
