The votes have been cast and after a competitive Miss Carnaval Miami pageant, the Kiwanis Club of Little Havana has crowned its 39th queen, the beautiful Valeria Uzcategui Miss Carnaval Miami 2020. The 17-years-old will be the ambassador of Carnaval Miami 2020, represent South Florida during the Miss Florida USA pageant, as well as join the Kiwanis Club of Little Havana as an ambassador during community events and goodwill projects throughout the year. Joining Valeria as the Miss Carnaval Miami court are first runner-up Susanlee Forte, second runner-up Marcela Bacellar, third runner-up Monica Aguilar and fourth runner-up Bianca Rosen.
“Valeria embodies the beauty, intelligence, happiness and dedication to helping others that is essential to becoming Miss Carnaval Miami 2020,” said Jorge Fernandez, president of the Kiwanis Club of Little Havana. “The Miss Carnaval title provides young ladies with an opportunity to become influential figures in the community, and we believe Valeria will be a tremendous representative of the Kiwanis Club of Little Havana and the South Florida Hispanic community.”
“I would like to thank the Kiwanis Club of Little Havana for providing me with the opportunity to become Miss Carnaval Miami 2020,” said Valeria. “The Kiwanis Club of Little Havana represents a beacon of hope to many families in South Florida, and it means the world to me that I will be able to represent Hispanic women in the community and become a positive influence for younger generations.”
